ReThinking 9/11

by Carol Brouillet (cbrouillet [at] igc.org)
An international campaign is aimed at raising questions about September 11th and calling for a new investigation. The 9/11 Truth Movement continues to organize, do actions, hold rallies, conferences, events. Locally, the Northern California 9/11 Truth Alliance will hold its annual film festival at the Grand Lake Theater in Oakland.

In a dozen cities, an international campaign is aimed to raise public attention and garner greater support for a genuine investigation into the event that has profoundly shaped this century. In seven cities in the U.S., three cities in Canada, and in London, UK and in Sydney, Australia, large ads ask “Did you know a third tower fell on 9/11?”

World Trade Center 7, a 47 story steel skyscraper that was not hit by an airplane, collapsed dramatically, at free fall speed, late in the afternoon on that terrible day, an inexplicable event omitted entirely in the official 9/11 Commission Report, and shockingly explained in a NIST (the National Institute of Standards and Technology) report as being caused by “office fires.” Over 2000 scientists and engineers are calling for a new scientific investigation, spearheaded by Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth.

Actions are planned, petitions are being signed, and politicians are receiving scientific papers and being lobbied to support a new investigation. In the East Coast, activists will march from Times Square, where a giant ad faces Times Square, to the site of the new World Trade Center 7. In DC, a conference will be held and all of Congress and the Senate will receive the latest materials supporting a new investigation.

In the Bay Area, home of Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth and the Northern California 9/11 Truth Alliance, one of the oldest, active 9/11 Truth groups, ads are in the BART trains and the annual 9/11 Truth Film Festival, entitled “Fifty Years of Betrayal from JFK to Today” will take place at the Grand Lake Theater in Oakland on September 11th from 1 pm to 11 pm. In addition to 9/11, the films will also look at the assassinations of John F. Kennedy, Robert F. Kennedy, Martin Luther King, Jr., Operation Gladio, and the founding of the Federal Reserve in 1913. Project Censored’s Peter Phillips and Mickey Huff will speak and host the event, along with the host of the radio show, Gun’s and Butter, Bonnie Faulkner.

Project Censored The Movie: Ending the Reign of Junk Food News will also premiere with the filmmakers, Chris Oscar and Doug Hecker. Local musicians, Vic Sadot and Bern Rauch will cameo their work. The film festival is dedicated this year to the memory of Dr. Robert Bowman, a hero to the 9/11 Truth and the peace movements. Dr. Bowman, once headed the Advanced Space Programs Development under Ford and Carter, and became a strong opponent to the Strategic Defense Initiative (known as Star Wars under Reagan), he recognized during his lifetime that the weapons the US was developing were not for defense, but were offensive and threatened the well being of Americans, as well as the rest of the world. He passed away on August 22, 2013. He embodied the mission of the local Northern California 9/11 Truth Alliance that organizes the yearly film festival –

“to seek and disseminate truths about the terrible crimes committed on September 11, 2001, exposing gaps and deceptions in the official story, and to thus inspire more eyewitness revelations, truthful media coverage, and a movement that will bring the responsible criminals to justice and eliminate governmental and corporate policies that enable criminal elements to commit such acts.”
