Task Force on the Americas Annual Dinner, Sunday, September 15 at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Marin. Doors open at 5 PM for no-host bar and silent auction. Dinner at 6. Main speaker: John Lindsay-Poland of the Fellowship of Reconciliation. Special guest: Ana Rivera from Honduras, a young activist with the two-year-old LIBRE Party which grew from the resistance movement following the 2009 military coup.

ANNUAL DINNER CELEBRATION

Celebrating 29 years of support for social justice movements, The Task Force on the Americas will hold its Annual Dinner on Sunday, September 15 at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Marin, 240 Channing Way, San Rafael, California.

This year's featured speaker is John Lindsay-Poland of the Fellowship of Reconciliation (FOR). John has exposed human rights abuses throughout Latin America for over thirty years. John participated in last year's US-Mexico Caravan for Peace and has investigated gun trafficking and the US role in the drug related violence in Mexico.

Special guest Ana Rivera from Honduras who will also address the gathering. Ana is a young activist with the two-year-old LIBRE Party which grew from the resistance movement following the 2009 military coup.

Doors open at 5 PM with a social hour, no-host bar and silent auction. Dinner is at 6 PM. A $50-100 donation is requested for this primary fundraising function of the year. Reservations required by September 1. For information call 415/924-3227 or go to http://www.mitfamericas.org.
