The activist says, "Get off your meditation cushion and do something! And let's stop sitting around 'processing'!" The spiritual practitioner says, "How do you know you won't replicate your own internalized oppression in all you create? We must do the inner work first."

Today the worlds of the spiritual practitioner and the activist are converging, as we realize the changes that need to happen on our planet go all the way to the bottom: to our experience of being alive and our basic way of perceiving the world. No longer is inner work an escape from outer, or outer a distraction from inner. This talk will illuminate and encourage what we might call sacred activism.

About the speaker: Charles Eisenstein is an author and public speaker, and self-described "degrowth activist". He is the author of the 2011 book Sacred Economics.
Born in 1967, Eisenstein graduated from Yale University in 1989 with a degree in Mathematics and Philosophy. He has lived in Taiwan where he worked as a translator. Eisenstein currently lives in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
