Statement from Hannibal Shakur on Felony Vandalism & the Murder of Black Boys

Statement from Hannibal Shakur

Oakland, CA

The political nature of my charges cannot be over-stated here. To give human rights to a mechanical entity constructed solely for the sake of profit and exploitation is a perversion of those rights and what it means to be a human being. In Florida, a white man walks for the obvious murder of a black boy. That young boy, that black child, wasn’t even given the rights of a dog. When the verdict is released, black people across America rise up to protest our non-citizen status. What could be called a riot ensues. A handful of people are arrested with charges of felony vandalism of whom I am one defendant. When Zimmerman murdered Trayvon Martin, he wasn’t even arrested. When a window was broken in Oakland, I was viciously slammed to the ground causing injury to my legs, arms and head. Even though I’m fighting cancer and the disgusting conditions of the Santa Rita County Jail are not conducive to healing, on top of being significantly injured by Oakland Police Officers, I was not allowed to be OR-ed or released to my Own Recognizance. A window is made of sand and can be replicated exactly. A rectangle window, of the dimensions I am being charged with breaking, doesn’t need to be replicated because the manufacturer keeps spare windows around for replacement. The United States justice system considers this a serious crime warranting felony charges. Trayvon Martin was a human being. There will only ever be one of him and we have lost him and the joy he brought to this world forever. A human life is priceless because it can never be replaced. Trayvon Martin could realistically have grown to be a political leader who would bring peace to warring nations. He could have grown to cure AIDS, cancer or diabetes. We know this to be realistic because the brother was a high achiever in school earning a 3.7 GPA. He could have developed some new treatment for drug addictions. The point I’m trying to make is, aside from being the pride and joy of his family and community, he could have made the world a better place for all of us. He could have stopped wars, cured diseases and got people off of drugs. At this point we will never know what we have lost aside from the fact that he was a beautiful young black boy who was loved and cherished. His murderer was given freedom and even got his murder weapon back with which, God forbid, he may murder another child with. This is the impotency of the US justice system, incapable of treating black people as human beings. In the same token, in Oakland, California, a place considered to have some of the strongest enforcement of civil/human rights, we are charged as felons, a charge that could land us in a penitentiary, for a Men’s Warehouse display window that was broken, yet caused no injuries to any human beings. While America is incapable of enforcing the rights of Trayvon Martin, a human child with a 3.7 GPA, corporations have been legally recognized as human beings and are being protected with the full extent of the law. I’d like to see the California ID that was issued to Men’s Warehouse. With the handling of my case and the endangerment to my vulnerable cancer-ridden body, combined with the acquittal of Zimmerman, it would appear that the US justice system has no value for human life or even more troubling, it has no value for black life. While Obama gives a televised speech on the oppression of black boys/men I am being railroaded for a broken window. I am the black life that he claims we need to have a higher value for. While my own plight is troubling as it is, the idea that we are setting a new precedent of violence against black men and boys is terrifying when I think of the kindergartners in Martin Luther King Elementary and the infants in Highland Hospital. I write this with teary eyes because as a grown man I understand what I’m facing: but how do we prepare children to face specific and targeted genocide against themselves?

The enslavement of the Black People for four hundred years by America is a War Crime by todays anti-fascist covenants, and that has not been dealt with even yet. In fact the so-called founder of the Colonial Nation of the United States of America, George Washington as first President was a large slaveholder, and when asked if the declarations of freedom and independance applied to the blacks as peoples, and would he free his own slaves he abruptly said NO! Then he further explained that as long as he lived he would never free the slaves.

Hannibal here is explaining the legacy as a long night of misery and oppression which is taken for granted by the American Judicial non-elected Supreme state even today. Look at the fact that with the murder of Abraham Lincoln by the slaveholder Booth, and the fraudulent electing of Heyes who was the first President (non-elected, but appointed by the non-elected Supreme Court) Heyes got less votes than the reconstuction opponent.

The second President to have this non-election path followed was George W. Bush, who got 2,000,000 less votes than his opponent Al Gore, but again was appointed by the non-elective Supreme Court. Lincoln's second term was to implement reparations, reconstruction, Gender Parity, and cause the Supreme Court to be elected for, by, and of the people. That got him and Medger Evans, Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcom X murdered for daring to suggest that the White Justice system was oppressive to the blacks and all the poor and working classes of the U.S.A.

Consequently the class struggle has been frozen in America at the position of male domination of the democracy for the rich (One percent), and disallowing of the Lincoln Program of government for by and of the peoples of America (99%). It is my understanding that Cancer is caused by stress of poverty and unjust living conditions, and brought forward by the wrongheaded policy of motivation of the industrial revolution by the fossil fuels such as coal, gas, oil, and atomic energy which is ecologically tearing apart the organic balances of the web-of-life in America and around the globe by stessful conditons of U.S. Imperialism and its system waging aggressive wars that pollute further the organic web-of-life.

Nothng short of liberation from the condition of destructive practices will solve the problems of sickness such as Cancer caused by waring against the living and working conditions at home and globally. Medicare cures disease and is necessary, the U.S. Military has sixteen super bug plants waging aggressive biological war and causing diseases globally and throughout the U.S. A. and around the globe.

Perhaps the American People ought now to invoke its own U.S. constitution which says 'when the U.S. government no longer serves the needs of the American people it is duty and responisbility of the people to alter (reform) or abolish (revolution) it and replace it with one that does serve the needs of the American people'.

The world's people knows that pollution caused by the industrial revolution does not serve the American people, and that waring stressfully for more and more fossil fuels does not serve the needs to end pollution. So that defines the time as sooner rather than later to change the governance, to end aggressive wars and pollution as the Imperial U.S. Nation's foreign and domestic policy.

Arise ye prisoners of pollution!! Workers of the world unite!! End pollution wars, not endless wars for more and more pollution. Re-tool the industrial revolution to the renewables such as wind, tidal, and solar power which transforms to electricity and is more power than all fossil fuels. You yet have a world to win!! Viva socialist liberation!!

He broke a window at a Mens Wearhouse. Read the post, he is upfront and honest about it, and not denying it. His point is: why should I go to jail for breaking a window when a person is NOT going to jail when they broke a human body?

1) i'm pretty sure he never admited to any crime, he just stated a window was broken.

Zimmerman's mother is from Peru . Judging from her appearance she is of mixed race, Indigenous and Spanish descent . (Unlike most of the Ruling class in Peru who are (or say they are ! ) of just Spanish descent. )
The defense used that fact to say tharefore Zimmernan couldn't be racist . That of course ignores the fact that at least some Latinos have racist views towards African-Americans . And some Blacks have anti-Immigrant worker biases .
Race, Racism and Ethnic bias isn't just a ''White vs Black ''isssue in this country anymore . Not that it really ever was
