No More Concessions Say BART ATU1555/SEIU1021 Transit Workers At BART Board Meeting
On July 1, 2013 contracts for ATU 1555 and SEIU 1021 BART transit
workers as well as ATU 192 AC transit workers. Workers and union
officials spoke out on June 13, 2013 at a BART board meeting about
the concession demands that the BART management and labor
consultants are demanding after a give five year wage freeze. The
BART board of directors have also spent $1.5 million to hire a union
busting consulting firm lead by Thomas P. Hock of Veola Transportation
Services. This outfit has a record of racism and attacking unions
throughout the country.
Many workers reported on the serious injuries and continuous
health and safety problems. According to their report the BART board and
management paid $320,000 for lawyers to fight a health and safety
ruling by Cal-OSHA.

Instead of meekly lining up to have the unions deliver you yet another defeat, take wildcat action linking employees and the wage slaves who have to ride mass transit, as described here:

Good luck!
by General Strike Now
It was good to hear that BART workers have submitted a no concessions union contract. To win that, it appears that BART workers will have to get commitments from all the unions in the Bay Area to strike if the union contract is not signed quickly, in other words, a general strike. IN ONE DAY, THAT UNION CONTRACT WILL BE SIGNED as no profits will be made in the Bay Area when there is a general strike. It is outrageous that we taxpayers are paying a $315,000 salary to anyone and that BART is engaging in union-busting, paying $1.5 million of our tax dollars to destroy the union. No salary should be more than $200,000 a year, and paying union busters anything should be illegal.

A 23% pay in crease over the life of this contract? The average BART employee makes 80K a year.

Paying the dirt cheap flat amount they do for the health care they get?

Still not paying anything into their nice pensions or retirement?

BART employees need a dose of reality. If they strike the public opinion will burn them. The economy has not turned around and the overall benefits they receive are far better than almost anyone gets in this day and age. Maybe they should listen to the people that ride the service in addition to the preaching by their union leadership. There's not much love with the attitutde and disrespect an average BART employee showers us with daily.
Early morning hours in San Fransisco at Gezi Gardens located at Oak and Fell streets the occupation and tree sit was brutally attacked with over 100 SFPD officers and SEIU workers helping in Destroying a community Farm and an Indigenous Burial Site. The police beat people on the ground and unsafely cut people out of trees which they were not trained to do and finally pulled up 5 City garbage trucks to take thousands of dollars to landfill instead of 850 Bryant where we could recover our belongings. We in the Indigenous community are appalled by the actions of SEIU and are asking for compensation from this labor union as a Sacred Drum was destroyed.
