This week's show features stories from China Radio International, Radio Deutsche-Welle, the Voice of Russia, Radio Havana Cuba, and NHK World Radio Japan.
From CHINA- After the EU placed large tariffs on solar panels from China, Chinese wine producers have petitioned for a tariff on European wines. The theme for this year's World Environment Day was "Eat. Think. Save." a campaign to reduce food waste.
From GERMANY- Turkish police continued to use severe force against protestors for a fifth night. Central Europe has been experiencing the worst rains in years and breaking centuries old record flood levels. The German Defense Minister admitted it was a mistake to try and create a drone program, and Angela Merkel's leading challenger is saying he will reverse Germany's drone plans and reduce weapons exports. Syrian forces have taken control of the strategic town of Qusair and the UN has put a hold on peace talks.
From RUSSIA- Japan has suspended the import of some forms of wheat from the US because it is contaminated with a GMO strain. The Pentagon has decided to leave a sophisticated missile defense system in Jordan after exercises- there is a question as to whether it might be used in a no-fly zone over Syria.
From CUBA- Bolivian President Morales says that Colombia's decision to join NATO is a threat to Latin America. A Venezuelan journalist says that opposition forces are continuing efforts to promote a coup against newly elected President Maduro. More than 65 countries have signed the first international treaty regulating arms sales, while the US has delayed ratifying it. Protests are continuing in a province of Afghanistan where villagers were found mutilated near a former US Special Forces base.
From JAPAN- The latest UN report on the use of chemical weapons in Syria says that limited quantities were used, but it is unclear whether government or rebel forces deployed them. Pakistan's newly elected Prime Minister has pledged to improve the economy and stop the US use of drone attacks in his country. People gathered in Hong Kong to pray for the victims of the 1989 Tiananmen Square crackdown. Japanese Self-Defense Forces are meeting with other Asian nations for mutual defense exchange. There is a new leak of radioactive water at the Fukushima nuclear disaster site. The US has imposed new sanctions on Iran targeting its currency and auto production.

I was interviewed for an informative weekly radio show Mediageek, available at http://radio.mediageek.net

All that plus times and frequencies for listening at home. It's free to rebroadcast, please notify me if you're airing it and haven't notified me in the last month, please mention the website if you only air a portion. If you just want to listen and have a slow connection, try the streaming version- lower sound quality but good enough and way easier if you don't have a high-speed internet connection. If streaming is a problem because of your slow connection, download the smaller file- it takes 20 minutes or less, and will play swell in any mp3 player application (RealPlayer, Winamp, Quicktime, iTunes, etc) you have on your computer.
NEW TIME SLOT on KZYX! This program will be aired on Sunday afternoon at 4pm (PDST) on KZYX/Z Philo CA, you might be able to stream via < http://www.kzyx.org >

I hope you'll listen and air this if you're connected with a radio station. I am still wondering how to get financially compensated for the 25 hours I put into this program weekly- any ideas are appreciated. Any stations rebroadcasting this (or listeners) are welcome to donate for production costs. You can do so through the website. Many thanks to those that have donated! No Guilt! (maybe a little)
