In Oakland we have taken on the colors of the Indigenous of this land yellow to the East where the sun rises, red to the south of red Mother Earth and the Red people who protects her, Black to the west where day turns to night changing of the worlds and white to the north where the snow comes from. These are the four colors of the medicine wheel and the four colors of the poeple. The final two colors are green for the trees that we (Tuk Pikuni) defend and blue for the sdacred sky and water.
