SAN FRANCISCO, CA—On April 18th, students working for the CCSF sustainability group 'Green Corps' are presenting an Earth Day celebration to bring together students and community members in support of sustainability and the environment. This event is part of a two-Thursday program to celebrate native plant week and sustainability; on Thursday April 11th the student group will host a smaller event, including a mini-bazaar and DJ music.

Earth Day itself will be a combination of music, education and awareness, and eco-friendly goods and services. Part of the program involves organizing a 'trial' produce bazaar, to gauge community support for a permanent, all-organic farmer's market on the CCSF campus. The intention of our program is to raise awareness about sustainability, promote healthy living, as well as provide the community and students at the college with access to diverse, organic products.

This Earth Day event is going to continue the tradition of showcasing sustainable principles in practice as well as offering information from various organizations, but we are also taking the opportunity to expand our vision to include more community development, on-site sustainable-based education. The event will feature two separate stages. both live artists and DJ's, a traditional drum performance, guest speakers, holistic health education, student and community teach-ins, organic vendors and farmers, and much more!
