This week's show features stories from NHK World Radio Japan, Radio Deutsche-Welle, Radio Havana Cuba, the Voice of Russia, and Spanish National Radio.
From JAPAN- North Korea has been making threats to many nations and saying it will restart its disabled nuclear power plant. An insight on why North Korea is becoming increasingly hostile to the international community. The US is set to deploy a new missile defense system in Guam to counter North Korea's threats.
From GERMANY- Numerous European Union countries are sending troops to train the national army in Mali, while fighting continues in the north. Israel launched an airstrike on the Gaza Strip in retaliation for a rocket fired from Palestine- the next day Israeli soldiers shot and killed a 17 year old Palestinian protestor. Torrential rain in Argentina caused major flooding and scores of deaths.
From CUBA- Argentina's president Christina Fernandez has proposed talks with Britain on the fate of the Falkland/Malvinas Islands. Venezuela will hold a presidential election on April 14th to replace the recently deceased Hugo Chavez.
From RUSSIA- The 10th anniversary of the war on Iraq prompted some British military officers to speak out about the atrocities they witnessed in secret US detention facilities in Iraq.
From SPAIN- Several reports on the situation in Cyprus after the banks were reopened with severe limits to last for at least a month- there will be further austerity measures, large withdrawals just before the closure will be investigated, and the government is going to allow legal casinos to be built. Indian courts dismissed a patent protection claim by pharmaceutical giant Novartis for a cancer treatment drug. The UN General Assembly has approved the first ever treaty on global arms trade, though there are some serious holes in the agreement which must still be ratified later this year.

I was interviewed for an informative weekly radio show Mediageek, available at http://radio.mediageek.net

All that plus times and frequencies for listening at home. It's free to rebroadcast, please notify me if you're airing it and haven't notified me in the last month, please mention the website if you only air a portion. If you just want to listen and have a slow connection, try the streaming version- lower sound quality but good enough and way easier if you don't have a high-speed internet connection. If streaming is a problem because of your slow connection, download the smaller file- it takes 20 minutes or less, and will play swell in any mp3 player application (RealPlayer, Winamp, Quicktime, iTunes, etc) you have on your computer.
NEW TIME SLOT on KZYX! This program will be aired on Sunday afternoon at 4pm (PDST) on KZYX/Z Philo CA, you might be able to stream via < http://www.kzyx.org >

I hope you'll listen and air this if you're connected with a radio station. I am still wondering how to get financially compensated for the 25 hours I put into this program weekly- any ideas are appreciated. Any stations rebroadcasting this (or listeners) are welcome to donate for production costs. You can do so through the website. Many thanks to those that have donated! No Guilt! (maybe a little)

"Civil disobedience is not our problem. Our problem is civil obedience. Our problem is that people all over the world have obeyed the dictates of leaders, and millions have been killed because of this obedience. Our problem is that people are obedient all over the world in the face of poverty and starvation and stupidity, and war, and cruelty. Our problem is that people are obedient while the jails are full of petty thieves, and the grand thieves are running the country. That's our problem."
--Howard Zinn
