The new San Francisco City and County Board of Supervisors will meet for the first time on Tuesday,01.08.2013, with two newly elected members, four re-elected members, and five members whose terms are ongoing. After a swearing in ceremony, the full Board will elect its President for the next two years. The President is the most powerful member of the Board and one of the most powerful officials in San Francisco. Former Board President Aaron Peskin spoke to KPFA about how the President wields power, and what sorts of political deals might be struck between now and Tuesday.
