October 25th 2012 One year anniversary of Oakland Occupy Raid - Photos
Cops in a militarized golf cart followed us the whole way saying that they encouraged our first ammendment right to peacefully assemble and if it was violent then they wouldn't. So damn noisy!
We went by the YMCA, passed emancipation park @ 19th just prior to that, made our way around the lake to the convention center, cops were there lined up in force, went to the cops station...cops were there lined in force, a cop told me to "get a job you bum!" Driving a puce colored ford taurus as it were... ah hem... Some idiot who was completely discript, (entirely not non-descript,) threw a rock at the police line at Washington, and then ran into the crowd as if to "blend in." Mostly peaceful protest march, reporters told me only two arrests. We had a pretty good crowd of folks. The march was followed by recorded music and a great slide show. Cops were at Oscar Grant Plaza in force, someone told me the ratio was eight to one cops, although I think it was more evenly matched personally.
