Erick Vidal Martinez, a human rights trainer who helped found the Diversity Movement in Resistance, is the 2nd openly gay candidate to run for Congress in Honduras. The first, Erick Martinez Avila, was assassinated in May, 2012. He is running as a candidate with the LIBRE Party, which has grown out of the resistance movement to the 2009 coup.
