Before Hugo Chávez was first elected president in 1998, 66 percent of the population of Venezuela suffered from deep poverty. Now Chávez is leading a pro-socialist revolutionary process that has made remarkable gains for the majority of Venezuelans. However, as the leader of Bolivia, Evo Morales, said, Chávez's recent election "is not only the triumph of the Venezuelan people, it is the triumph of the countries of ALBA and Latin America.”
While the Venezuelan masses are celebrating their victory, here in the United States, right-wing politicians are driving to disenfranchise even more U.S. voters under the smokescreen of voter fraud.

Antes de que fue electo Hugo Chávez como presidente por primera vez en 1998, 66 por ciento de la población de Venezuela sufría de pobreza extrema. Ahora Chávez esta dirigiendo un proceso revolucionario pro-socialista que ha logrado enormes avances para la mayoría de venezolanos. Sin embargo, como el líder de Bolivia, Evo Morales, dijo, la elección reciente de Chávez “no es solo un triunfo para el pueblo venezolano, es un triunfo para los países del ALBA y América Latina.”
Mientras las masas venezolanas están celebrando su victoria, aquí en Estados Unidos, los políticos derechistas están intentando privar del derecho al voto mas votantes estadounidense bajo la falsa preocupación del fraude electoral.
