On October 10th, Homes Not Jails will occupy a building in solidarity with the 3rd annual World Homeless Action Day. There will be a rally at 5pm in Dolores Park (near main steps) and a march to the occupation site to follow. Homes Not Jails will reclaim vacant space to provide housing through direct action and protest the criminalization of homelessness. Food to be served at the occupation site, music and performances to follow. Bring your sleeping gear and occupy liberated space. Yes, you can have a movement without Facebook, but you'll have fewer people involved.

Most people are on Facebook because their friends and family are, but they can also find information and events (often because a friend likes a page or joins an event).

It is a flawed way to reach people that doesn't require any money.
