No on S /// United Against Sit/Lie on the 1 Year Anniversary of Occupy Berkeley.
Rally at the Bank of America
On Saturday 10/8 of 2011, Occupy Berkeley migrated from its roots in People's Park to Shattuck Avenue in downtown Berkley to begin community general assemblies.
This year, on Saturday 10/6 at Noon, join in opposition against measure S, as well as in opposition to the corporate interests which create economic and housing disparity.
Rally against the 1%. Join in the conversation regarding community solutions, and community mutual aid. Organize to but Berkeley back on the progressive track. Brainstorm for future action.
Fight measure S. It punishes the disabled, elderly, houseless, as well as anyone else who uses the sidewalk as a place to stop and rest. It weakens freedom of protest, criminalizing sidewalk sit-ins. From buskers, to students enjoying pizza on the sidewalk, to protesters staging an action, Measure S is a strike against usage of the public commons.
