The misguided "war on drugs" by the United States government continues to classify marijuana as a Schedule 1 narcotic. But a recent decision regarding the VA and veterans with PTSD has the potential to loosen that restriction for veterans. With public support for medical marijuana continuing to grow, especially as a treatment for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, the Veterans Administration has approved marijuana as part of treatment plans for veterans in states that have legalized medicinal marijuana, such as California.
