CCSF Students/Workers Occupy Trustees Meeting To Protest Special Trustee Appointment

Students and workers protested the appointment of a special trustee at a meeting of the Community College Board of Trustees meeting. Supporters of privatization want trustees to take over the university and implement the cuts and attacks on education worker conditions.

CCSF Students/Workers Occupy Trustees Meeting To Protest Special Trustee Appointment
Students and Workers at Community College of San
Francisco spoke out on September 11, 2012 against a
plan to appoint a special trustee to take over the running
of CCSF. California Community College Jack Scott and
Barbara Beno President of the private Accrediting
Commission for Community and Junior Colleges which
is part of the Western Association of Schools and
Colleges sent letters to the the CCSF Board of Trustees
demanding that a special trustee immediately be approved by the board.
AFT 2121 president Alisa Messer and SEIU 1021 CCSF Chapter
president Angela Thomas both supported the appointment of a
special trustee and the budget which included wage cuts.
