2969 Mission Street

On August 26, women, men and community organizations joined W.O.R.D. in the streets as we marched in defense of women’s rights nationwide. The response to the call showed how much a fighting women’s movement is needed at a time when women’s rights are being severely threatened by anti-choice laws and major cuts to healthcare, housing and other social services.

What’s next? We need to unite an organize a movement in the streets that can make our rights a reality. August 26 was a great start but we need to continue to mobilize for future actions.
W.O.R.D. is hosting a community meeting on Sun. Sept. 9 to discuss next steps for organizing against the assaults on women’s rights. Peta Lindsay--an L.A. W.O.R.D. organizer and the 2012 Presidential candidate for the Party for Socialism and Liberation--will be the featured speaker.
Join the W.O.R.D. contingent at the Slutwalk • Sat. Sept 9, 12 noon at Delores Park
