Africans to CNN: Fire Fareed Zakaria for promoting Kagame and KONY 2012
Fareed Zakaria, host of CNN's flagship foreign affairs show, and TIME Magazine Editor-at-Large, was suspended by both CNN and TIME last week, but many Africa scholars, journalists, and advocates said he should have been fired long ago for promoting Rwandan President Paul Kagame and the propaganda film KONY 2012, which argues for introducing U.S. Special Forces into Uganda, the Democratic Republic of the Congo (D.R.C.), the Central Africa Republic (C.A.R.), and South Sudan.
