San Francisco | Health, Housing, and Public Services | LGBTI / QueerSleep Outside? Or In The Mental Ward Shelters
I'm a victim of the bad economy. Just like everyone else, but what I didn't know was that the homeless shelters in San Francisco are merely throwback mental wards. So yesterday I decided to walk by the encampment at 101 Market street, and check it out because I'm not sure my health can deal with the homeless shelters in San Francisco. But when I got to that encampment SFPD was rustling up the sleepers at 8am so DPW could clean the area, and it needed it. Just standing around and watching I could smell the funk. The smell made my eyes water. ![]() p51655.png Pictures were posted from my phone using Indybay Publisher.
§Sleep Outside? Or In The Mental Ward Shelters
![]() p51681.png ![]() p51691.png Staying at MSC South has been the most degrading experience of my life.
Today staff made me wait in line with the men even though I am female. Every other man called me dude and sir. Staffs' escapist comments are "tell us about it" or " inform us and we will do something." even though the comments were being said 4 feet from the line. So in order to make sure I don't get beat or harassed by police, or other homeless I must endure some of the most degrading and humiliating treatment of my life. I would not recommend seeking shelter in San Francisco. Mistreatment, shelter, MSC South |
