Dipsea Hike for Zero Breast Cancer Saturday, September 22nd, 8am Old Mill Park, Mill Valley
Get out and get physical for a great cause! This 6 mile noncompetitive, all-ages trail loop is a great way to spend time with friends – enjoy breathtaking Mount Tamalpais views, experience the legendary Dipsea steps, and enjoy food, music and prizes with great people. Runners welcome! The event raises awareness that regular physical activity reduces the risk of breast cancer, while also raising funds for Zero Breast Cancer’s prevention-focused research efforts to learn why Marin and Bay Area women have higher rates of Breast Cancer.
For more information and registration (Adults $35, Students $20), please visit dipsea.zerobreastcancer.org .To participate as a team please visit: http://dipsea.zerobreastcancer.org/get-started/teams

This event is held in memory of Annie Fox and Jerry Leith and is produced in partnership with Tamalpa Running Club. The Marin Independent Journal and Whole Foods Market Miller Avenue are sponsors of the event.

The 6-mile trail on Mount Tamalpais begins and ends in Old Mill Park in Mill Valley. Starting with the legendary Dipsea Steps, the trail crosses the Panoramic Highway and follows the Sun Trail to the Tourist Club, connects with the Redwood Trail to the Panoramic Trail to the Mountain Home Inn on Edgewood. Then follows Edgewood to the Tenderfoot Trail to the Cypress Trail and back down the Dipsea Steps to Old Mill Park. There will be 2 aid stations along the way staffed by trained first responders; members of the Tamalpa Running Club will be the trail monitors.

Registration opens at 8:00 am and the event starts at 9:00 am. At the end of the trail, lunch, free massages and music will meet the participants. Prizes will be awarded to individuals and teams recognizing top fundraisers, and other categories.

Zero Breast Cancer is a Marin County nonprofit organization dedicated to finding the causes of breast cancer through community participation in the research process. It focuses on identifying environmental factors and the role they play in the development of breast cancer at all stages of life and across generations. Zero Breast Cancer is the only community-based organization dedicated to finding out why women in Marin and the Bay Area are at higher risk for breast cancer. In partnership with academic and research institutions ZBC has brought several million in research dollars to fund Bay Area breast cancer researchers. Their goal is the elimination of the disease.
