"Fukushima No More" tells the story of the Fukushima nuclear plant meltdowns in northeast Japan in March of 2011 and exposes the cover-up by TEPCO and the Japanese government. This is the first film that shown in the United States that interviews the mothers of Fukushima, nuclear power experts and trade unionists who are fighting for justice and the protection of the children and the people of Japan and the world.

Included is an interview with Kei Sugaoka, the GE nuclear plant inspector from the bay area who exposed cover-ups in the safety at the Fukushima plant and was retaliated against by GE.

Also hear a report from Chieko Shiina, a member of a delegation from Fukushima here to promote no nukes in California.

Chieko Shiina is one of the most powerful organizers from Fukushima. Being a youth activist in famers’ and students’ organizing for land issues and fight against US-Japan Peace treaty, she is an experienced activist who understands the mechanism and the legacy of nuclear renaissance in relation to multinational militaries in the context of East Asian politics. She became an anti-nukes organizer and formed Fukushima Women Against Nuclear Power, touring communities all over Japan to help support local organizing against nukes.

Sponsored by the San Jose Peace and Justice Center, No Nukes Action Committee, Community Arts and Lectures Program at San Jose City College, and Nihomachi Outreach Committee
