SST’s Sam Shepard Festival offers a free Monday night film series Shepard on Screen, exploring Shepard’s extraordinary career as a screenwriter and actor (over 40 films, including an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor in The Right Stuff). Shepard on Screen takes place Monday nights July 9 – August 6. Shepard stars in Terence Malick’s Days of Heaven (July 9), Michael Apted’s Thunderheart (July 16), Volker Schlöndorff’s The Voyager (July 23), Wim Wender’s Don’t Come Knocking (July 30), and Robert Altman’s Fool for Love (August 6) – Shepard also wrote the screenplay for the last two films. Faculty and SST company members lead a post-screening discussion after each film.
