Licensed acupuncturist, spiritualist, herbalist and longtime doula, R. Dafina Kuficha shares a medley of traditional medicines from several cultures. Traditional cultures have always had a number of ways to take care of themselves before western medicine came into the picture. When western medicine brought its values and its conglomeration of synthetic medicines many people lost their relationship with the healing practices of their ancestors.

The workshop focuses on traditional Chinese medicine, Acupuncture and using a body-mind-spirit connection to good health. Acunpuncture is more than 5000 years old and was practiced in many places outside of China, including Africa. Acupuncture is effective in treating numerous conditions including chronic and acute pain in the muscuoloskeletal system, migraines, lung conditions, insomnia, high blood pressure, diabetes, congestive heart failure, prenatal labor and post natal care, gynecological conditions, prostate conditions and many more ailments.

R. Dafina Kuficha is founder of the Treasure Your Health Institute and has been practicing Chinese medicine since 1992. She does a radio segment on KPFA, 94.1FM, (live streaming on http://www.kpfa.org) called "Treasured Health Gems," featured on the Greg Bridges' "Traditions in Transitions" show on the last Monday of each month. R. Dafina Kuficha provides free acupuncture services every first Saturday of the month at the Black Coalition on AIDS in San Francisco. She maintains her private practice in Berkeley, CA. and has patients from all over the Bay Area.
