Richard Becker, western regional coordinator of the ANSWER Coalition and with the Party for Socialism and Liberation, will speak on “Empty Homes and Homeless People.” He will focus on the current U.S. housing crisis that illustrates the "criminal absurdity" of the capitalist system. In 2010, there were more than 18.7 million vacant housing units in the country, while millions are homeless, or living doubled-up in overcrowded conditions. A group discussion will end the evening. For more on Becker's analysis of the housing crisis, visit: http://www.pslweb.org/liberationnews/news/empty-homes-and-homeless-people.html As always, our lectures are free and open to the public.
