KPFA listeners give Pacifica an earful on Tracy Rosenberg recall

by Grant
Read the latest mail from KPFA's subscribers to the Pacifica national board here.

The board's refusal to appoint impartial oversight and hold a prompt vote on the Tracy Rosenberg recall is making people mad. The station's interim GM is also coming under fire for unfair electioneering.

And over 1100 subscribers have signed this petition to the Pacifica board:

SaveKPFA, KPFAworker et al are deceiving the listeners.

At the recent truth meeting at the Unitarian Center, the questions were asked and went unanswered- who funded the slick recall piece on Tracy Rosenberg and why, Brian Edwards Tiekert did you hire Bush attorneys to sue the station? I guess the openness we expect of our progressive reporters does not apply to the SaveKPFA folks?

According to your own Save KPFA website, the recall petitions were largely submitted by non-members of KPFA and Pacifica who paid $25 to "buy a vote" in the recall election.

That is not a recall.

From Save KPFA's web page: "Our own surveys indicate large numbers of listeners became members in order to vote in the recall election. With an estimated 400 people giving $25 in order to vote, the election expenses are a wash"

There were 582 valid recall petitions. 400 of them are estimated to be buy-a-votes.
