Mission District RUN ON THE BANKS: NO MORE EVICTIONS & FORECLOSURES FOR PROFIT!

Saturday, January 14, 2012
Time:
12:00 PM - 2:00 PM
Event Type:

Location Details:
16th and Mission BART Plaza

Thousands of renters and homeowners in San Francisco are being evicted by banks each year. San Francisco’s Mission District has been especially hard hit by the 1% banks preying on the 99% working class. Join Occupy SF Housing at Noon on January 14 to protest evictions of renters for condo conversions, which are being done by real estate speculators working with Big Banks. We will demand that these banks stop all pending evictions which they are financing and to stop financing any more evictions for profit, where low & moderate income renters are evicted so affordable apartments can be converted into luxury condominiums for the wealthy.

January 14 is part of the Occupy Wall St West campaign; also join us at the next major action on Friday January 20, a full day shutdown of the San Francisco financial district’s banks and corporations
most involved in evicting tenants and homeowners.

Occupy SF Housing is a coalition which includes Occupy SF, SF Tenants Union, Housing Rights Committee of
SF, Causa Justa::Just Cause, Eviction Defense Collaborative, ACCE, Homes Not Jails and others. The coalition
came together to stop banks from evicting tenants and homeowners from their homes through foreclosures
or through their partnerships with real estate speculators
