Coup d’Twelve – The Revelations of Dr. David E. Martin

by Carol Brouillet (cbrouillet [at] igc.org)
Dr. David E. Martin, author of the novel Coup d'Twelve: The Enterprise that Bought the Presidency spoke on the weekly Community Currency Radio Show last week. He described his own experiences and the outline of a multi phase plot which included 9/11, as well as control over the Presidency in 2008. The main purpose of the novel was to expose and thwart the group from committing another major crime against the public. Ironically the interview was abruptly cut off by a power failure. The interview will be continued Thursday, December 15th on Community Currency.

Hear Dr. David E. Martin continue his story on tomorrow's Community Currency Radio Show from 2-3 pm on the Progressive Radio Network.

Last week I had the pleasure of interviewing Dr. David E. Martin on the Community Currency Radio Show about his first novel, Coup d’Twelve: The Enterprise that bought the Presidency. On the back cover is a tantalizing description of the story “this epic thriller weaves the global political events of the past twelve years into a tapestry so close to believable that it will leave you wondering where the line between fantasy and reality is drawn. The truth is, it is true.”

It is quite a tale, I’ve read it three times now, and keep finding more and more within it that challenges my understanding of the world, technology, and political events. I asked David what was his purpose and intention in writing the book, and why was it initially posted for free online. He explained that it took him just eight weeks to write the book because most of it was drawn from memory. Each one of the stories, events and characters were taken from real life and actual locations although he had changed some details, so as not to be charged with libel by identifying people who actually had participated in what could be considered criminal or treasonous behavior.

The reason he wrote and posted the novel was in response to a series of statements, most notably those of Leon Panetta when he moved from being the Director of the CIA to the head of the Department of Defense regarding the electronic and cyber threats to the United States. Dr. David Martin was concerned by the data that he had collected over the past several years that there would be an event done by assets of the United States, that could be labeled as an attack by a foreign source, that would materially alter the financial records of the country. He thought if they published the novel in time they could disrupt that attack. They monitored who downloaded the novel and many of the people who might have participated in the attack were early downloaders of the book. David felt that by putting the scenario of the attack into the public view before it could be carried out, they helped prevent it from happening.

The next question that I posed was asking him to detail how he knew about the phases of a very ambitious plot which included the events of September 11th, and the control over the Presidency in 2008, since he turned down the offer to participate in the conspiracy and voiced his opposition to the plan at the outset of the novel.

Dr. David E. Martin then described his experiences in Nicaragua in the 80’s which opened his eyes and ears to the activities of the parts of the government, the clandestine part, involved with drugs and arms trafficking. He became very interested in remembering names, faces, conversations, types of planes, cargo, and recording his observations. Later he realized that misinformation depended on people’s ignorance of countries outside the US. He began to learn about the actors, actions, logistics, people, identifying planes and vehicles, financing of covert action by the US and other governments.

In the early 90’s Dr. Martin began to develop technologies to look at and analyze large amounts of unstructured data and identify anomalies. They were able to find and identify serious criminal behavior and made the mistake of reporting them to authorities who were participants rather than watchdogs. The intelligence agencies don’t want their secrets known.

The premise of the novel is that investors got together to overtly buy shares in control over the Presidency at a meeting in New York. There isn’t anything particularly new about that idea, since politicians have been bought before, but usually they are purchased by well entrenched interests, not audaciously open to outside investors, seeking enormous returns on their money and participation. The shareholders were chosen for what they could bring to the table in terms of access, not bought, but earned. They also had to be people that could be tracked and have their movements followed. Each was to put up five hundred million dollars, sourcing one operator and one critical path for the first three phases. Dr. Martin was invited to the meeting, because he had detection technology that they wanted, to make sure that they could make “undetectable” asset transfers.

What is clear in the novel is that many powerful people were drawn into the plot, without full knowledge of the situation, without escape routes and became unwitting pawns. What isn’t clear is who was pulling the strings. Certainly the meeting in New York was set up by operators working closely with a clandestine agency in the US. One reason Dr. Martin maintained the posture he did in his novel is because he saw that people who thought they were powerful or thought that they were entitled to power, or were seduced into believing that illusion, were themselves forced into being actors against their will. They discovered suddenly that they had been set up and had become a pawn in someone else’s game. What happened when Phase One played out was that some of the operators did very well financially while others had to patiently await their turn and potentially much greater returns.

At the initial meeting, there was a written business plan presented to get the most marketable candidate to run in 2008. They were positioned to make huge gains in the wake of the Anthrax attacks. Both 9/11 and the Anthrax attacks were components of the larger plan to dismantle civil liberties and abolish individual accountability while the private sector reaped enormous gains playing on the public’s fears. David explained that that is why he called it “The Distraction” in his novel, because it allowed the movement of epic amounts of wealth from the public to the hands of a few.

Phase One included structural instability, to undermine the confidence of the public, pave the way for privacy erosion, erasures of civil liberties and individual civic responsibility, which was critical to gain market data about how demographics responded to fear, government intrusion and outside events. The climate of fear permitted the movement of a massive amount of wealth. The public was encouraged to spend money, to buy homes, to indebt the nation, to relinquish civic responsibility, to give away political control, economic control. It was the first time a war effort not supported by manufacturing productivity, but by service based industries, including consulting firms and private contractors used to prop up and inflate the housing market.

During Phase Two, they would actively identify the perfect Presidential candidate for 2008 while the distractions deflecting domestic scrutiny would be maximized, so that no one would have the ability to focus on the realignments for Phase Three.

Phase Three would be the systemic termination of Phase Two distracters, once variables were aligned. Phase Four would be the complete asset reallocation into the “Enterprise.” At least that was the basic outline. In the novel, Dr. Martin was asked twice to join in with the conspirators and turned them down each time.

Before I had the chance to pose the bulk of my questions, the phone line went dead. Although the timing was rather amazing, I was assured that the culprit was a vacuum cleaner and a fuse. The silver lining behind the interrupted interview was that Dr. Martin agreed to carry on the conversation on the next show. That interview will be carried live and archived on the Progressive Radio Network.
