Not Quite Heroes

by Sudhama Ranganathan Sat, Nov 26, 2011 7:56AM
We so often hear of people that are close to heroes – at least by today's standards. Perhaps they have been perfect examples of what society thinks of today as embodying the image most people have in their minds of the kind of person we feel is heroic. Perhaps it's their deeds, perhaps it's their words, perhaps it's their look, it might be the people they associate themselves with or maybe it's some mixture of the above whether or not we ourselves feel that is what a hero really is. It could be a person so close to the generally accepted definition of a hero that even if they don't fit our own personal definition we have to be a little impressed with how close they come to that traditional image.
