Why: Do you really have to ask? For Justice For All of course. Read Thomas Paine's words while you try and remember why you would support a system designed to keep 99% of us Down by keeping us Broke, Uneducated, and Fighting against each other: .............................................................................................................................. On Diplomacy: An army of principles can penetrate where an army of soldiers cannot. On War Mongers: He who is the author of a war lets loose the whole contagion of hell and opens a vein that bleeds a nation to death. On Truth: But such is the irresistable nature of truth, that all it asks, and all it wants is the liberty of appearing. On Government: Government, even in its best state, is but a necessary evil; in its worst state, an intolerable one. On Reasoned Rebellion: He that rebels against reason is a real rebel, but he that in defence of reason rebels against tyranny has a better title to Defender of the Faith, than George the Third. On Character: I love the man that can smile in trouble, that can gather strength from distress, and grow brave by reflection. 'Tis the business of little minds to shrink, but he whose heart is firm, and whose conscience approves his conduct, will pursue his principles unto death. On Action: I prefer peace. But if trouble must come, let it come in my time, so that my children can live in peace. Let's have that one again: On Action: I prefer peace. But if trouble must come, let it come in my time, so that my children can live in peace. .......................................................................................................................................... S T R I K E so that the next generation of this planet's living creatures can have a chance. Always Remember: People First, Business Second. Businesses are nothing, zero, nada without People. Businesses do not equal people, they are subservient to people. They need to be reminded. Speak these words of power: Anti-trust laws, Glass-Steagal Act, etc. 1. SPREAD THE WORD about the date of strike: MONDAY, 12/12/11. Be creative: Try FREEWAY Blogging! 2. Go to your nearest Occupy movement tomorrow and get them to get in touch with the other Occupy movements to do this. Time to Organize. Get in the Stack and make this happen. We can you know. 3. Contact the Teachers Unions, the Nurses Unions, contact them all. We are the working poor. 4. Contact your local Vet. 5. Enter your own...the important thing is to publicize this event. The countdown starts today. We have less than 7 days. GO FOR IT. We are in this together. Time to take this to the next phase. Time To Strike! The Occupy Settlements have gotten us this far. It is Time to take it farther. It is Our Time. It is the one of the things they (1%) are most afraid of. During the anti-CPE uprising of 2006 some dispossessed young Parisian wrote on a wall: "3,000,000 à marcher, rien ne bouge! 300,000 à bloquer...? Rejoignez-nous!" in English that is roughly. "3,000,000 people march, nothing happens! But if 300,000 people block...? Join us!" She didn't know what would happen, but maybe tomorrow the whole world will.
We are all unwilling stakeholders in this economic system that we understand not to be merely corrupt, but rather defective by design. It has been for too long that we view workers as the only people with the agency to take industrial action. The massive, co-ordinated industrial action called for and set to be carried out by the broader community tomorrow sets my spine ashiver. To everyone taking "stand up / fight back" beyond the rhetorical, the best of luck and total solidarity from your allies in Atlanta! | |||||||||||||||
