1) ORGANIZE AN OCCUPY ACTION GROUP
Occupy SF urges everyone who supports and participates in Occupy SF to spread the movement by self-organizing our own Occupy Action Group; get together with your friends, neighbors, co-workers, congregations, classmates, or community to form a group to take action for the 99%, both in our own neighborhoods and communities and to coordinate with each other for mass actions and mobilizations.

2) SEND A SPOKESPERSON TO OCCUPY SF ACTION COUNCIL!
Choose someone from your Occupy Action Group to attend the Action Council and coordinate and network with other groups and help plan and mobilize for mass actions.
We also invite existing groups who respect our practices in the occupy movement to join us and send a spokesperson for your group.

OCCUPY SF ACTION COUNCIL

WHAT?
The Occupy SF General Assembly agreed on October 28 that Occupy SF will spread, deepen and decentralize Occupy SF across San Francisco’s diverse communities and movements by initiating an ”Occupy SF Action Council” and inviting the people of San Francisco to join us. The idea is to invite everyone who supports and participates in Occupy SF to spread the movement by self-organizing our own Occupy SF action groups; get together with our friends, neighbors, co-workers, congregations, classmates, or community to form a group to take action for the 99%, both in our own neighborhoods and communities and to coordinate with each other for mass actions and mobilizations. We will coordinate through an Occupy SF Action Council made up of spokespeople chosen from each group that will meet once a week (or more if needed) to plan, coordinate and mobilize for mass actions. We also invite existing groups who respect our practices in the occupy movement to join us.

WHY?
* To involve, engage and mobilize more of the 99% in San Francisco. To stand up to the 1% and win positive changes for our communities and the world, we need the active participation and support —a truly mass movement-- of as much of San Francisco’s 99% as possible.

* To spread and decentralize Occupy SF from a particular location/s and group of occupiers to everywhere (all neighborhoods and communities) and everyone in the 99%. This will make us stronger, more resilient and unstoppable by raids or repression.

* Too make Occupy SF as truly diverse as our city with all our amazing communities, cultures, languages, histories and desires; we support everyone organizing ourselves in our own communities. The Occupy SF Action Council will be a respectful space for all of us to come together coordinate and take collective action.

HOW?
* ACTION COUNCIL: Action Council meets every Sunday at 2pm (It can set more meetings as needed).

* Meetings are open to all. Coordination and decisions about mass marches, actions and mobilizations are made by spokespeople-- chosen by their groups-- using the same modified consensus process of the General Assembly [try for consensus, if not possible 9/10 majority].

* ASSEMBLY: Occupy SF General Assembly will continue to make decisions, have discussions and be a forum for the Occupation of 101 Market, Justin Herman and/or future site/s.

* ORGANIZATIONS: Existing organizations who respect the practice of the occupy movement (like being autonomous from political parties and organizations, non-hiearchical directly democratic, and nonviolent protest, occupation and resistance) are welcome. Groups that wish to co-opt, dominate or use the occupy movement for to further their own organization or ideology are not.

* ACTION GROUPS: We will facilitate and support people organizing their own Occupy SFaction groups (like affinity groups) by helping people to meet up with others in our communities, neighborhoods, or with folks who share common interests or identities. These groups can take action, do education, etc in their own communities and neighborhoods in addition to supporting mass actions and occupations.
