East Bay | Global Justice and Anti-CapitalismOccupy Oakland Eviction Notice
A speaker at Occupy San Francisco Friday afternoon 10/21 reports that Occupy Oakland just reported receiving an eviction notice from the city. (1:08)
From the information I got at Occupy Oakland Friday afternoon, two notices have been received. One asserts it illegal for anyone to participate in "overnight lodging" (Oakland for "encampment") starting immediately. Some of the notice reads, "You do not have permission to lodge overnight in Frank Ogawa Plaza. You must remove all tents, sleeping bags, tarps, cooking facilities and equipment and any other lodging material from the Plaza immediately. Your continued use of the Plaza for overnight lodging will subject you to arrest."
Some type of a ten-day notice was also received, telling the occupiers they need to move out within that time period. |
