Hands Off Occupy Oakland-ILWU Calls For Labor Backing Of Occupation
Hundreds of supporters of Occupy Oakland attended a rally on October 22,
2011 and called for the defense of the occupation. ILWU Local 10 Executive
Board member Clarence Thomas called on all unions and the entire labor
movement to defend the occupation against threats by Mayor Quan and the
city of Oakland to shut it down. Other speakers included members of the
CNA, OEA and IWW.

Oakland Mayor Quan has finally revealed her true nature with first trying to put more police on the ground rather than education or job opportunities and now the removal of a peaceful broad community protest against the Banksters. Mayor Quan "Who do you Protect" should be the battle cry as a Native American elder I am not surprised but publically disgusted at this stance. If the Oakland police move in, I am sure of a larger encampment from the Indigenous, Latino and African American communities which will be encouraged by yours truelly.
