Hands Off Occupy Oakland-ILWU Calls For Labor Backing Of Occupation Hundreds of supporters of Occupy Oakland attended a rally on October 22, 2011 and called for the defense of the occupation. ILWU Local 10 Executive Board member Clarence Thomas called on all unions and the entire labor movement to defend the occupation against threats by Mayor Quan and the city of Oakland to shut it down.
