by Darin Bauer
It is day ten of the People's Park Tree Sit, winter 2011.

Little Bird seems to be in good spirits on day ten of the People's Park tree sit Winter 2011. In a recent you tube video (as noted in web address) he calls out for solidarity with the occupation movement, and cites reasons for the tree sit against University of California, Berkeley occupation. PEACE TO LITTLE BIRD!

This tree sit doesn't look like it's about protecting trees, land, or much of anything.

How does sitting in a tree in People's Park have anything to do with protests against Wall Street greed?
It seems like a distraction. If it's about Ohlone land, do the Ohlone support this action? How much damage has the tree suffered from having a platform nailed to it?
by People's Park
The platforms aren't nailed to the tree. They are tied to the tree.

The protest is against the UC's management of the Park, and in actuality it does bother the UC enough for them to keep sending cops to the park to harass him.

He is occupying space as protest, and has preempted the Occupy Berkeley movement by 10 days.

The UC has ties to BP, GE, and other corporate entities. The UC is being controlled by corporate greed.
