CodePink, Raging Grannies and Friends at Federal Building
Yesterday's San Francisco rally from 3pm at the new Federal Building (7th and Mission) was an expression of solidarity with the October2011 demonstration in Washington, DC, and with people in the streets of New York and everywhere.
It included open-mic periods for participants to suggest further actions on ending the wars, supplying our needs, taxing the rich, and protecting the environment. The Raging Grannies sang their message during open-mic period.
Bay City News reported that the rally was organized by Code Pink and was attended by World Can't Wait, Global Exchange, Veterans for Peace, Raging Grannies, and other groups.
"This isn't just another rally, this is the beginning," said Code Pink activist Janet Weil in an interview with Bay City News. "The thing that has lifted our sails has been the Occupy Our City movement." Janet emcee'd the rally.
