With the Environmental Protection Agency under attack on Capitol Hill and national climate legislation rotting in the compost pile, it is a challenging time for environmentalists. Some organizations have shifted their sights away from Washington, D.C., to states and cities, where they see better prospects, albeit on a smaller scale. We convene top leaders from three of the country’s largest advocacy groups to discuss their priorities for advancing clean energy, water and air. Should corporations be embraced, or kept at arm’s length in pursuing those goals? What is their overarching theory of change? Join us for a conversation with three of America’s most prominent green leaders.

Michael Brune, Executive Director, Sierra Club
Felicia Marcus, Western Director, Natural Resources Defense Council
Karen Topakian, Board Chair, Greenpeace USA

Location: The Commonwealth Club, SF Club Office
Time: 11:30 a.m. check-in, noon program, 1 p.m. networking reception
Cost: $20 standard, $12 members, $7 students (with valid ID)

The speakers and audience will be videotaped for future broadcast on the Climate One TV show on KRCB TV 22 on Comcast and DirecTV.
