Bellydancers at Disability Pride Festival
Watch attendees at the 2nd annual Disability Pride Festival move to the beat of Arabic rhythms as they enjoy bellydance troupe the Hala Egyptian Dancers. The event was held in San José on July 23rd.

The parade and festival was organized by Silicon Valley Independent Living Center. Several hundred people rocked and "rolled" in the parade, then watched stage performances by the Hala Egyptian Dancers, breakdancers, Raging Grannies, and much more.

As a differently-abled bellydancer m'self, I freaking LOVE this. I'm visually impaired, have been bellydancing for a few years now, and have simply been -devoured- by this beautiful, empowering art. If you have any other videos in a similar vein, please, drop them my way! I'd love to feature them (and you) on my blog! (And if you know of anyone else around the country who's combined bellydance w/work w/people who have varying dis/abilities, please, send me a holler about that, too!)
