THE FORGOTTEN BOMB:
Everything Depends on Remembering
by Stuart Overbey
~~ appearing in person

This inspirational documentary follows Bud Ryan on his journey of discovery that begins with a life-changing trip to Hiroshima, Japan. His encounters there with "hibakusha," atomic bomb survivors, force him to consider for the first time the perspective of "the bombed," and to question all that he thought he knew about nuclear weapons and the end of World War II. Bud leads us through an exploration of the many tentacles of nuclear weapons and their effects. He interviews a uranium mine worker, an atomic veteran, Manhattan Project scientists, renowned authors Gar Alperovitz and Jonathan Schell, and former U.S. Secretary of State, George Shultz. He leads us on tours of museums devoted to nuclear weapons both here in the U.S. and in Japan. Bud's personal narrative is a study in how knowledge can inspire personal transformation and inspire one to devote a life to the pursuit of peace.
