Fukushima Made In the USA: Protest In SF At Japan Consulate & Bechtel 6/10/2011

San Francisco anti-nuclear activists and organizers joined an international day of action against the Japanese Goverment, Tokyo Electric Power Company and the US government and industry who are covering up the dangers of the Fukushima nuclear disaster. They demanded the closure of all nuclear plants throughout the world and also marched to Bechtel where they protested the role of this company and GE which are profiting from this deadly industry. They delivered a petition to the Japanese Consulate in San Francisco and also spoke about the fact that the development of the nuclear industry was organized and based in the United States despite mass opposition in Japan by the people to this industry.

Protest In SF At Japan Consulate & Bechtel 6/10/2011

On June 10, 2001, activists, organizers and musicians against nuclear power and
the cover-up by the Japanese TEPCO, GE, the Japanese and US government
rallied at the Japanese consulate in San Francisco. The rally took place
the same time on an international day of action with protest in
Japan and In New York. Participants spoke out about the dangers to the
world of nuclear power plants and the role of the governments and the
nuclear industry in covering up the dangers as well as refusing to release
the actual contamination that is taking place. They also protested the
treatment of workers, farmers and the children of Japan who are facing
disease, dislocation and a criminal cover-up.
They also marched to the world headquarters of Bechtel corporation
which has profited from the nuclear industry and then making money
from the clean-ups. Speakers pointed out that former US Secretary Of
State George Shultz who was also the Chair of Bechtel helped form the
"Committee To Liberate Iraq"
which pushed for the US invasion and now is making profits in Iraq.
Additionally speakers exposed the dangers of depleted uranium bomb
which are contaminating whole areas of the world.
A petition was presented to the Consulate of the Japanese Consulate
and the rally and march was initiated by the
