About TUPOCC:
Proceeds from the event go to the United People of Color Caucus (TUPOCC). TUPOCC was founded in 2005 by a small group of diverse NLG law students of color. We are dedicated to fostering and supporting the growth and empowerment of all people of color, and particularly legal activists of color inside and outside of the NLG. We believe that an injury to one is an injury to all, and to this end, believe all forms of oppression need to be dismantled before any of us can reach true liberation. Since 2005, we’ve grown to hundreds of members.

The NLG was founded in 1937 as an association of progressive lawyers created as an organization working in the service of the people and committed to the concept that human rights are more sacred than property interests.
