Pursue: Action for a Just World (a project of American Jewish World Service and AVODAH: The Jewish Service Corps) presents: Meet the Change, our regular Jewish social change networking series, with local food activist Eli Zigas.

About our featured change-maker:

Eli Zigas wears a few hats while working on urban agriculture policy and reforming the local food system. He is co-founder and Executive Director of Cultivate SF, on organization exploring the feasibility of commercial urban farming in San Francisco, as well as a co-coordinator of the San Francisco Urban Agriculture Alliance. Eli is also working to launch a new Food Systems and Urban Agriculture program at the local planning and advocacy organization, SPUR. Before moving to San Francisco, he was Program Manager for DC Vote, an education and advocacy non-profit organization in Washington, DC. A city boy constantly striving to green his thumbs and a bit of a wonk, Eli is excited to meet likeminded activists at this month’s Meet the Change event. Learn more about his work in this Good Magazine article.

Free! BYOD: Bring Your Own Dinner. Drinks and dessert provided.

About Meet the Change: Meet the Change is an open invitation to change-makers from across the spectrum: teachers and students, social workers and social entrepreneurs, artists and lawyers, investors and innovators, organizers, educators, and agitators – anyone and everyone seeking co-conspirators for activating their Jewish and social justice values. Each event presents the efforts of a featured change-maker while encouraging attendees to connect with one another around their own ideas, desires, and plans for making change.
