Libya is under attack by the long ruling, deranged and brutal dictator, Muammer Qaddafi. Throught the past few days hundreds of people have been left dead and thousands injured. Medical aid is exremely scarce and there is NO international media allowed within the country. We need all our brothers and sisters from around the world to join in and let our voices be heard-ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.

Qaddafi needs to be held accountable for his atrocious war crimes. Most of the west has stood in silence and refused to acknowledge the massacre happening in Libya as we speak.

This is to show our support for Tunisia, Egypt, Libya, Bahrain, Yemen, Algeria, Iran and all other countries fighting for freedom. Spread the word and hope to see you all there!!!

There is some speculation that ANSWER are refusing to back the uprising in Libya . The reasons are perhaps the presence of some supporters of the Old Monarchy in the streets. Does anyone know ?

"Folks are invited to meet Saturday, February 26 at 1 p. m. at the U.N. Plaza at Market and 7th Street in San Francisco for a march that will feature 20 organizations, including Arab Resource and Organizing Center and American Friends Service Committee. [Update: Just got a call from ANSWER Coalition to say they did not approve the inclusion, by protest organizers, of their name as a feature organization at Saturday's protest, because they do not agree with some of the wording in the protest organizers' press release.]"

From an Al Jazeera article, Libya's revolution headquarters:
'Acceptable distortion'

Much of the information about the Libyan uprising that reached the West in recent weeks came from Libyan expatriates who were phoning, emailing or instant messaging with family and friends inside the country. Often, the Libyans abroad would relay incomplete or exaggerated news, as when false reports spread that protesters in Benghazi had found hundreds of political prisoners held underground for decades (in fact, a dozen or so were released, and their internment was several times smaller than had been reported, Sanalla said.)

"Some of it was well exaggerated," he said. But in his mind, if it helped the uprising's cause. It was an acceptable distortion.

"It put more pressure on the international people, it made it even more horrific."

What other 'information' we're being fed is equally distorted? Clearly, Qaddafi isn't the only one who lies, but his lies are the only ones treated as such by the media available to us, including most of the 'left' media.
