CHILDHOOD SEXUAL ABUSE
Childhood Sexual Abuse is a hard thing to overcome. Some women make it and some do not. This is the story of a woman who did. Her name is Magdalena Soul. She lives to tell.
Magdalena Soul is a very exceptional woman. She was sexually abused as a child from the ages of 8 to 18 Her father was the one who did it to her. Her mother who was an alcoholic turned a blind eye and pretended the abuse was not going on. Her father would come into her room late at night and molest her. Her mother did not even notice. The pain she endured was unbearable. Even after she left home and came to the San Francisco Bay Area it happened one more time while her dad was visiting. A year before her father died she confronted him and her mom threw a fit and her dad looked shocked and probably ashamed. A year after her father died she began incest therapy where to this day she still does her inner work around the issue. It did affect her in her relationships with men. She ended up marrying an abusive alcoholic who abused her sexually.
Fortunately she left that situation. While in college studying to be an HIV prevention educator, one of her classmates suggested she take a course called "The Politics of Sexual Violence. She waited several semesters until she finally decided to take the class to become a Sexual Health Educator.
