MEDIA ADVISORY:
RALLY AND MARCH

“CALL TO ACTION MAKE THE DREAM Act A REALITY”
On Friday, December 3rd UC, CSU, CC, and high school students from across the bay area will be gathering at the Federal courthouse in San Francisco. To Rally and March to Sen. Feinstein’s office to call on the Senator to champion the passage of Senate bill (S. 3827) into legislation by Congress, and get it passed now. As many of you may have heard, Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, Senate Majority Leader, Harry Reid and President Obama have called for a vote on DREAM Act.
There will be many students, and colleges that will be participating in this coming event which include: SJCC, UC Berkeley, USCS, SCU, Davis, Fresno State, EVC, De Anza, SJSU, Napa Valley and campuses from Southern California as well.

If the Federal Dream Act legislation does not pass, students who have done nothing wrong will continue to be subject to deportation simply because of our failed immigration system.
If Congress fails to act this year, another entire class of outstanding, law-abiding high school students will graduate without being able to plan for their future, and some will be removed from their homes to countries they barely know. This tragedy will cause America to lose a vital asset: an educated class of promising immigrant students who have demonstrated a commitment to hard work and a strong desire to be contributing members of our society.
