Grant was killed by BARTpoliceman Johannes Mehserle at the BART Fruitville station in Oakland. Brown was joined by a delegation of rank and file ATU 1555 BART drivers and station agent workers. The rally was sponsored by ILWU Local 10, San Francisco Labor Council, Alameda Labor Council, Oakland Education Association and SEIU 1021.
