Wed May 19 2010 (Updated 05/22/10) Armed Deputies Inquire About SubRosa Over "Worker's Comp Issues"
Officers Pay Visit to Santa Cruz Anarchist Infoshop SubRosa Four armed deputies attempted to visit SubRosa on May 19th. SubRosa was closed at the time, and the deputies told SubRosa's neighbor that they wanted to talk to staff about "worker's comp issues." One of them was an inspector in the Santa Cruz District Attorney's Office. Apparently, this makes good on the DA's promise to investigate SubRosa for any connection with the May Day property destruction.

SubRosa is a non-profit, donation-funded space in downtown Santa Cruz for art and radical projects run by a collective of volunteers from the local anarchist community. The State Administrative Manual for California states, "By law, workers' compensation benefits for volunteers are not required."
