John Stewart Company breaks ground to build 800 units in gated community at HUNTERS VEIW.

by Francisco Da Costa
The John Stewart Company a Property Management Company controls thousands of units at the Presidio of San Francisco, Treasure Island, the Tenderloin, Northridge, - here, there and everywhere. The John Stewart Company secured over $100 million in grants from our cashed strapped State of California to develop Hunters View. At Hunters View at Hunters Point - aka Middle Point - 267 units will be torn down. Over 800 units will be built, high rise with less Open Space. Mayor Gavin Newsom encourages such blatant - racism.
The John Stewart Company has a track record that speaks for itself.

John Stewart once worked for Fanny Mae and was fired. Few know about this but during his sojourn with Fanny Mae he learned how to apply and get grants, loans, and make money.

While there is nothing wrong making money the right way - it is patently wrong to make money off poor people. We saw this a long time ago with the Geneva Towers. Armed guards guarded the building - while the building was infested with drug dealers, prostitutes, and this drug infested Public Housing - had to be torn down.

Of all the people that were removed from that building " Geneva Towers " less then 5% return to the newly built replacement homes - and what is more to this day NO ONE really cares - how the others survived and how many died on the streets of San Francisco - many in the Tenderloin and on Sixth Street.

The 267 units at Hunters View will be demolished and some have already been demolished - right now the other units enjoy OPEN Space and the buildings are less then three stories high. No more with the Conceptual Plan that the John Stewart Company brags about is implemented - five, six, and eight stories - all high density will replace the present units.

The Serpentinite Rock when crushed that release Asbestos Structures is present - and the community has NOT been presented with a plan that address Toxic Dust and Asbestos Structures. Article 31 has not been discussed and the other issues adversely impacting the community at large - have not been brought out in the open for open discussion.

The John Stewart Company has met with other - mostly City Officials behind close doors and signed off on deals - keep the constituents of the area and San Francisco - in the dark. That is exactly how the DEVIL - operates.

Local Black Leaders - the few that are present are bribed and some and in bed with the John Stewart Company. Right now at Hunters View our Elders are suffering but no one is lifting a finger to help them.

Communities Of Opportunity (COO) led by Dwayne Jones who is using private corporate money in the millions - continues to divide the community. COO is openly supporting the John Stewart Company and some of the folks that now live in and around Hunters View - have been promised units - as and when the units come on line.

We have seen many promises made before - but few kept. It is said that some folks will never learn. Why do we permit - mostly White Folks such as the John Stewart Company come into our living rooms and rearrange our furniture without our permission.

Today, at 9:30 am there will be some ribbon-cutting and all the cronies will be there - to socialize - eating some, and drink some cheap cool-aid - and in all the confusion of sorts - compassion will be lost and with it the right of our Elders who are removed and living in deplorable conditions - not too far from the demolished buildings - and watching as the new ones that will soon be built to replace those from which these ELDERS - were evicted.

At this time umpteen cases of people suffering from breathing, bloody noses, headaches and many other ailments have been reported to the SF Housing Authority, who is partnering with John Stewart Company and the so called HOPE SF model - to improve the standards of poor Black folks by removing them - also know as GENTRIFICATION.

No concern is given to our children and elders when it comes to Quality of Life Issues. No concern when they report their health has been compromised. What is happening to the City of Saint Francis? Where is our respect for our children and our Elders?

In the mean time the over 80 Churches, the many mostly Black Pastors wearing their favorite yellow and mean Blue suits - with wide baggy pants, open their mouths trying to say something and keep spewing hot air and diatribe. Taking bribes and doing the work that befits the devil.

Within the community there is NOT ONE Tenant Association that is worth the salt.

There is one but the voting was rigged and one City Official - brought in the box, took out the box, counted the votes, and adjudicated privately as to who won the elections and was the President.

Such nonsense - tells us how divided our community is. The role of COO, Dwayne Jones, the SF Housing Authority, Mayor Gavin Newsom, other bribed organization and entities - dividing the community and creating animosity that has never, ever been seen - before.

In all the confusion the Polynesians have suffered the most. They have no representation at all. When the Polynesians try to do something - outside forces try to adversely impact them - with threats, pulling down fences, breaking gates that have been put up for protection, and all sorts of crimes that are reported but nothing happens to the culprits.

Once the new units go up about 20 units will be set aside for those that the John Stewart will allocate. One of two have been set aside for those that played the role of Sell Outs - the names of the persons were announced by Mayor Gavin Newsom at a Press Conference - recently.

The present dire Economy is hitting the people in Public Housing. And even as poor people in the Public Housing are suffering - all sorts of rules, norms, and ordinance are been brought forth and applied. Hundreds of innocent people have been evicted. Some took money to move away - that they spent soon and are now living on the streets.

For the first time we see families living on streets of San Francisco from District 10 living in District 6 - and all this while Sophie Maxwell from District 10, is doing - nothing.

Our people are like living zombies - they walk the streets in despair thinking some one will bring them some salvation. Many are addicted to substance abuse and others have no money after the first week of the month. It is now very precarious to live in Public Housing - the community has been divided by outside forces - mostly prodded by Developers that want the land to build homes.

The John Stewart Company is known and has a track record of being harsh, very harsh with poor people and those with mental and physical problems. I know this because such cases have been brought to my attention. I sent emails to the President of the John Stewart Company - so he is fully aware of what I am talking about. He is also aware of other issues that I openly report to him through my articles.

In the interim Public Transportation to Hunters View sucks. The Municipal Transportation Authority - also know as MUNI to many - promises to make changes but is very, very slow to deliver anything much. Times will tell.
