The political economy of Mexico today

Julio Huato, author and economics professor, was born in Mexico. Since his student days he has been an activist, both in Mexico and the US, around working-class issues, from the struggle for housing to basic urban public services, farm land, water, schools, and health care. Julio has been a research associate at the Howard Samuels Center, and taught economics at Drew University and Ramapo College. Currently, he is an associate professor of economics at St. Francis College (Brooklyn) and a member of the steering committee of the Union for Radical Political Economics and of Science & Society’s editorial board.
