One year since the killing of four Oakland police officers and Lovelle Mixon in East Oakland, the International People’s Democratic Uhuru Movement presents, “One Year Later: Police Containment and Resistance in the African Community,” a community forum being held on Sunday, March 21st, 2010 at 4pm at the Uhuru House community center, 7911 Mac Arthur Blvd in Oakland. Omali Yeshitela, leader of the Black is Back Coalition for Social Justice, Peace and Reparations and founder of the Uhuru Movement. Yeshitela has dedicated his life to creating organizations to unify black people around the world, in the tradition of Marcus Garvey and Malcolm X.
